Art Eat Festival receives support of local law firm

Art Eat Festival receives support of local law firm

Art-loving Ipswich law firm Prettys is putting the finishing touches to its involvement in a major art and food festival in the town later this month.

The firm is a sponsor of the inaugural Art Eat Festival, a community celebration of creativity, art, music and street food taking place along Ipswich Waterfront on September 21 and 22.

Prettys will also have a stall at the event, where business development assistant Amy Ellis will be offering face painting for children. The Firm is also producing its own artwork – by encouraging young visitors to the stall to put a handprint on a canvas.

The creation will later be hung on a wall at the firm’s Elm Street headquarters, where it has been holding its own exhibitions for some years. The most recent being an exhibition of work by local artists which will end on October 31 and has been open to members of the public.

Prettys’ CEO, Ian Carr, said: “We are always looking for ways to give back to the community and sponsoring the Art Eat festival was another fantastic opportunity to do so. We have enjoyed hosting our own exhibition in the run-up to the festival.

“Our senior associate Claire Barritt is a big art admirer and she’ll be in attendance during the upcoming launch event and the festival itself, representing the firm.”

Exhibiting artist, Glynn Thomas said: “I think it is admirable for local businesses to promote local artists and I am indebted to Prettys for giving me the opportunity to showcase my work.”

Art Eat Festival director Iona Hodgson said the exhibition at Prettys’ offices has been very successful for all the artists involved.

“All of them are professional full-time artists so Prettys are very lucky to have the calibre of artists in their offices.”

And she added: “The Art Eat Festival is a gift to the community, and this is why we have worked alongside a number of local businesses, organisations and people. As well as being a couple of days out for the family, the festival is generating hundreds of paid opportunities for local people.”

As well as the chance to take in the art and enjoy some delicious street food the festival will also feature free workshops, a vintage fun fair, live music and craft stalls.

Please contact the Prettys Ipswich office on 01473 232 121 if you would like to visit the exhibition.
