DBF and Lomas & Co announce IHT and Estate Planning Event

Davis Blank Furniss and Lomas & Company are staging a free seminar in Glossop on Thursday 26th May that will cover the issues surrounding Inheritance Tax and Estate Planning.

The first part of the event will be led by Paul Lomas – director of Lomas & Company. His presentation will cover Potentially Exempt Transfers, Agricultural Property Relief and Business Property Relief as well as Gifts with Reservation. He will finish with an overview of the recent wider changes that have come into force relating to Inheritance Tax and Estate Planning.

After a short coffee break, Laura Johnson – a solicitor in the Private Client team at Davis Blank Furniss - will take to the floor. Laura will discuss why it’s important to have a Will, how Inheritance Tax works in practice, the role of Discretionary Trusts and Lasting Powers of Attorney. She will use case studies in order to make each topic relevant and engaging.

Laura said: “It’s vital for everyone to think carefully about Inheritance Tax and Estate Planning and our aim to dispel the myths and provide practical advice and guidance. Members of the Davis Blank Furniss and Lomas & Company teams will also be on hand after the event to answer any queries guests may have.”
