The Glossop office of Davis Blank Furniss will be holding its 2016 Will Week from Monday 21st to Friday 25th November at its Ellison Street office. During this year’s Will Week, the firm will be offering the local community a discount on its usual fees. The week long promotion covers the following types of Wills:
~ Straightforward single Will: £48 inc VAT
~ Mirror Image Wills for a couple (where the two Wills are identical): £96 inc VAT
~ Straightforward Single Will for Senior Citizen: £36 inc VAT
~ Mirror Image Wills for a Senior Citizen couple (where the two Wills are identical): £60 inc VAT
The process for clients is simple: they would just need to make an appointment with a member of the Private Client team; the assigned solicitor would then detail the client’s wishes and draft a Will based on what they say. Once prepared it would be sent out for approval.
When that initial stage is complete, clients will be asked if they wish to make any changes and once they’re happy, a copy will be posted and they would be asked to sign their new Will. Original Wills will be stored in Davis Blank Furniss’ strong room and a copy will be issued. Clients may also choose to store their deeds along with their Will.
In addition, the firm is offering its Will Week clients a discount on a Lasting Powers of Attorney. A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) enables you to appoint a trusted friend, relative or professional to make decisions about your finances, property and personal welfare in the event that you are in an accident or you develop an illness that leaves you unable to make such decisions for yourself.
Laura Johnson, solicitor, commented: “Many people put off making a Will, which is a real mistake. The aim of our Will Week is to show how easy and important it actually is – especially as having a Will protects the interests of those closest to you.”
