Law firm Clarke Willmott LLP has assisted in the sale of a popular Harrogate nursery to the Just Childcare group.
Corporate partner Helen Wong advised Safehands Nursery on the disposal of the family-run nursery that cares for up to 70 children.
Owner Fiona Stevens, a qualified nursery nurse with more than 16 years’ experience, established the business in 2004, and is supported by husband Rob.
Fiona praised Helen Wong for selling the nursery in three months.
“There were fraught moments during the transaction but Helen smoothed them over and gave me utmost reassurance,” said Fiona.
“She pushed hard to keep to the timetable and without her we may not have closed.
“Helen was so helpful, knowledgeable and very clear of the process. I was kept abreast of all the steps and she was always available whatever time of the day or night.”
Safehands was sold on a freehold basis through Christie & Co with childcare business agent Vicky Marsland of Christies handling the sale.
Helen Wong, who is based in Clarke Willmott’s Manchester office, specialises in nursery sector sales and acquisitions said she was delighted for Fiona and Rob and their three children.
“Fiona is a consummate professional and over the past 15 years has successfully provided local families with high standards of care in a homely, nurturing environment.
“Clarke Willmott wishes her and her family every success for the future secure in the knowledge that Safehands is in the capable hands of Just Childcare.”
The acquisition takes Just Childcare to 54 settings across the North West, Yorkshire and the South West providing care to more than 5,600 children.
